There’s always plenty going on, and we have two dedicated in-house organisers who arrange lots of group activities.
However, there’s no need for anyone to join in anything if they don’t want, and there’s always space for those who want peace and quiet. We also offer special one-to-one care for those who prefer that to being with a group.
There’s a weekly events calendar, as well as special evening activities. Residents can enjoy bingo, singalongs, quizzes, coffee mornings, wine and nibbles, or almost anything. If someone has a special interest we’ll do our best to help them to enjoy it. Anything from polka to poker!
We have close links with the local church and can help residents to attend services there. We also organise prayer groups, communion and so on. That said, we are non-denominational and welcome residents of all faiths.
We celebrate all kinds of occasions, including birthdays and seasonal occasions such as Christmas, as well as other important days and events.
For example, we have decorations to mark the Chelsea Flower Show, including flowers from our gardens. At Halloween we hold a fancy dress party for local children and residents’ young relatives.
There are regular trips to local places of interest, such as Beverley Minster, town markets, garden centres and the seaside, or just a local pub. There’s also a popular walking club.
In the summer especially, many of our residents spend a lot of time in our extensive gardens, enjoying the fresh air and maybe potting a few plants or generally helping out.
